So I was checking some stuff a(round) again and I came across something that feels a bit off and my dumb brain needs an explanation from the experts. Going around youtube, I saw a video about the inconsistency of 'map' sizes vs actual sizes.

Greenland looks huge when it isn't, Russia same thing. Antarctica is bigger then Australia. Yep, that makes sense, stretching the curvature and all!
So I decided to do some checking of my own. I went to google maps and wiki, zoomed all the way out and I checked Antarctica. Pretty big place indeed.
Then I check wiki for the 'area' sizes of the two.
14,200,000 km2 for Antarctica
7,692,024 km2 for Australia
Which means... Antarctica should be almost double as much as Australia. Yet that isn't the case. It's bigger but not DOUBLE bigger. What gives?
Not to mention pic related, even more confusing. Obviously someone is not ditching out the correct information?
