I'm not 21 yet, so I just bought a haul of delicious junk food (doritos, ramen noodles, bacon, cheese, cookies) from the grocery store.

as a chemistry major I always thought organic labs for fun, but now I'm taking quantitative methods and I finally understand why pre-meds say they hate labs. we're doing standardization of 0.1 M HCl and NaOH, and it's so hard to get low variance, i dont know why.

Fuck bromocresol green with Osama's diarrhea-soaked prayer rag. Phenolphthalein makes it easy to see the endpoint (when it first becomes slightly pink) but bromocresol green gradually turns yellow long before the endpoint, you can't pinpoint exactly when the titration is done.

For some reason I can't get an RSD below 0.2%. I get RSDs like 0.6% or even 1.2%. I was dumb and accidentally contaminated decarbonated water (which takes a whole lab period to boil) by adding DI water to dilute 0.12 M NaOH to about 0.1 M. We have to use these standard solutions for rest of the semester, and we only get to work on our labs during lab periods so there's no enough time to just start over.

FUUUUCCKKK!!!!
