How many Curies are in 0.5g of Americium-241?

I am doing this as a personal project, and There are a few things that I don't know how to do.
First off, I can't figure out how to find out the amount of Curies (Ci) in 0.5g of Americium-241.
Second, How do I find out the lethal dose of Americium-241?

Hey you wanted to know how much radiation it takes to kill people but everyone's different so the only way to find out an average is to kidnap people from a random population selection and average them out. To be fair 100 people probably isn't enough you should try to get 1000 people per country and kill them with radiation if you want good data, make sure the sample selection is completely random you'll want people from all age groups including infants and elderly for best data.

I did google it. My science teacher (I'm in 12th grade, just turned 18 last month) asked me to find out how much of it can kill me, because I'm doing an experiment with radiation as a STEM project. I was already aware of the inhalation or ingesting hazard.

FYI skin blocks alpha radiation. Americum-241 outside the body simply won't kill you, regardless of how much you have. Just don't get it into your body in megadoses on a regular cycle and don't make it a large amount of it into a breeder reactor and you'll be fine.

Americum-241 also releases small amounts of gamma radiation. If you had a very very large amount it could kill you. But you'd need hundreds of kilos probably.

a curie is an outdated measurement, replaced by the becquerel.

Americium 241 has a half life of 432.2 years
Amerecium 241 has a molar mass of 241 grams per mol
avogadros constant is 6.02214086 × 10^23 atoms per mol-1

One half gram is one 482nd of a mol, giving a 0.5 gram sample of AM-241 approx 1.2494068 *10^21 atoms

So, after 432 years, half the sample will have decayed, giving us 6.247034*10^20 decays over a 432 year period.

which is:

1.4460727*10^18 decays per year
3.961843*10^15 decays per day
1.6507679*10^14 decays per hour
2.7512798*10^12 decays per minute
45854663333.3 decays per second

1 Curie is equal to 3.7×10^10 decays per second
(37 Giga becquerel)

So, the sample has about 1.2 curies.

the cdc has a toxicological profile on americium you can look up with references, I don't think they have any oral exposure studies there. you can google americium ld50 and see what you find, maybe there's a rat study somewhere. then you would extrapolate to the human body weight from the reported mg/kg figure. with radionuclides especially toxicity is a funny thing because the cancer risk takes a while to manifest.
