I've seen a million green house designs and one stood out to me the geodesic dome. but my question is does the shape actually matter.

Yes and no. The plants don't give a shit, but the design may affect things like how easy it is to maintain humidity, temperature, airflow, ect.

geodesic is good because you can replace panels (not the case in OP pic) because during high winds they can get shredded by flying debris and also collapse from snow even if sloped
also because its a dome it means the bigger it gets the cheaper and more economical it becomes to build, cuz circles
