As for the image, imagine two groups of people that take these approaches in isolation of each other. After a few generations, the differences would become noticeable. The Case I group will have had the background advantage of sexual selection on a population which strengthens the genetics of the herd. The Case II group would begin to look like inbred, backwards hillbillies by comparison.
