could post apocalyptic monsters utilize left over metal as weapons/ body parts/teeth. what might the apex predators look like?

i had a nightmare that they feed off pain and specialize in torture to extract something from remaining humans, keeping them alive . looking something like the worm monster in the beginning of Beetlejuice
