Just as the environment of our planet created a scenario that caused evolution of biology to occur, is it possible that human society is creating within it a form of being that is in a state of evolution? We say our culture is evolving, well what if there is also evolution of cultural evolution? For instance, maybe methods of information propagation counts as one evolutionary step in that area.

Like moving from the printing press to the telephone to the television to the internet. What will evolve from the internet? And if the internet is the thing with the most complex evolution right now, will it simply become life just as we are, after enough time, and the birth of this new life-form is the apocalyptic worryings of people who negatively prophesize the AI singularity, the nanotechnology singularity, the bio-engineering singularity, etc.? That these are just next phases?
