I have read headlines whch claim that air pollution from highways can impair your cognition; adults living within 300m of a highway have higher risk of Dementia/Parkinsons/MS, and have lower IQ etc...
I have noticed that many colleges are within 300m of a major highway. How dangerous is this? It seems counterproductive if it is true, and even more of a reason to not go to college.

I have also noticed that many top schools are farther than 300m from a highway. Harvard, MIT, and Stanford specifically are all far away from a highway. I think Princeton is as well.

I thought online classes could solve this problem, but you cannot take math classes like calculus and differential equations online, or science classes like biology, chemistry, and physics online. Colleges do not offer it at all. You are forced to go to these campuses for several hours per day to take these courses, and presumably breathe in this polluted air and lower your IQ. What does /sci/ think of this? I don't want to go now.
