Dealing with those problems is very difficult but at least the idea of surpassing them doesn't go against the laws of nature as we know them in any fundamental way like FTL does.
Also just going very near speed-light solves those problems for the travelers to some extent. You need to go at speeds which seem totally unrealistic to get that level of time dilation, but however unrealistic it is it's more realistic than FTL.
