A lot of places have some kind of tuition reimbursement plan if you want to go back to school while working. Talk to your HR rep.

Addendum: Of course, if you have to start from the beginning with undergrad, be prepared to meet a lot of dumb, annoying kids fresh out of school. A master's or PhD is much more comfortable for older guys, since your fellow students will be much more mature than these snotheads.

I'm going to community college at 35. I wish I'd gone earlier, but I had to work to support my family.

Between tuition reimbursement from my job, them paying for books, and grants, I'm paying nothing for the first two years and will take minimal loans for the last 2 at a state school.

Do the math. If you decide to go back to school at age 30. You'll start when you're 31, because school session already started last month and you'll have to wait till next fall to start. Then let say you graduate in 4 years. That puts you at 35 years. Now very rarely do people land a job in their field of study right after school. So you are expected to wait an average about 2 years before that. So by then you'll be 37, a middle aged man, someone who's already expected to retire in another twenty years.....but you're just starting. Nobody would want to hire a person like that...think about it. You're just fooling yourself. You messed up a long time ago.

I got stuck in retail at 18 and ended up not finishing collage, and just making ends meet. I did that until I was 30 and said fuck it and got my B.A.

Im now working in hirer education in a kush office, have a paid off car, live in my own home and not an apartment, about to pay off my student loans, and have more leisure time.

One because you are motivated and devoted and two because you will actually feel better and mire grateful to be where you are. Yes... make your education your "job", 8 hours a day, 5 days a week and you will thrive.
