Can information, sequences of information, and memetics themselves cause danger to the mind, sanity, and consciousness?

Do psychedelics lower the ”mind’s defences”—allowing for what’s normally uncomprehensible and complex ideas and thoughts (such as the feeling of a looping infinite amount of time) to be interpreted and felt—leading to lasting feelings of mental chaos and insanity?

Can a mind theoretically be ”reprogrammed” using sequences of information? I’m not talking about the act of learning. I’m talking about showing someone a sequence of seemingly random information that would cause changes to their mind.
