Nigga, we currently have 1)global warming 2)mass species extinction 3)depletion of high EROI energy sources going on at the same time. Industrial civilization won't survive to 2100, let alone for 350 years. You'll be worrying "where to get fresh water" instead of "how to build a Dyson sphere"

you can't construct a dyson sphere because there would always be more gravity at the suns poles than at the equator causing your structure to inevitably collapse every time

that + it wouldn't spin properly due to the uneven gravity

it would have to be a dyson disk and even that would probably become unstable and break apart

Why not just convert extra terrestrial masses like the asteroids into new planets?

Planets have the perfect shape to hold an atmosphere and manage thermal issues by rotating

You might need planet level propulsion to get this going and prevent the solar system from collapsing/breaking apart but you would need that for the dyson sphere/disk anyway

Imagine a 20 planet solar system with 20 inhabitable planets

Wouldn't those planets need to be pretty close to one another to fit into the habitable zone? That sounds like a recipe for disaster should a few collide and start a chain reaction ala an enormous ball of hot magma containing the remains of your extended family who were just chilling on Earth #3.

Also, something people haven't mentioned in this thread yet is the issue of transporting the energy back to Earth, consider the fact that lasers would be very inefficient and you'd need outputs at pretty much every possible spots.

In my mind the easiest way to construct a dyson sphere would be to leave the solar system and head to another star. Probably a white dwarf because they are much less dangerous.

The structural parts do not need to surround the star. Fields of magnetism or something can be created to funnel energy into condensers. I'm imaginative but a brainlet. Help me out here.
