>>10965982the phenomenon known as cum brain is because ikku is called by the locals kumukku (chillwater river) and also a nickname of the area. As for Cum Brain, this is when a bunch of achivets (and sometimes birds) drop in from the forest on the hot weather and then get eaten by hyenas. There had always been an outbreak of this when the river was dried up for several years, but there is evidence that this was much worse (but more recent) – in the 1930's people from Kumukuku got very badly bitten by some of these beasts so the authorities forbade their return due to potential disease risk.
In 2009, the Kumukuku River had completely dried up. However, a local fisherman told me about the legend of Cum Brain – that during the summer time when the temperature is in the mid 90's, when the river is almost totally dry, some of the achivets that have dropped in from the forest get picked up by the achivets
