B12 and B1 are very important for working memory and long-term memory. Here in the West, We have the illusion that everybody's well-nutritioned. But that's not true.
B12 can be found in most meat in low quantities, unsatisfying quantities. But the best source for it is eggs and animal livers.
B1 can only be found in legumes, Rice and some brands of cereals.
You could possibly be lacking in Magnesium or Copper instead. But that's unlikely considering you forgot something as trivial as multiplying and dividing decimals.

You're a retard. B-1 deficiency (you're talking Wernicke-Korsakoff) won't affect the memories you already have formed. It will affect your ability to create new memories from the start of the deficiency. Also, it's very difficult to have B1 deficiency because thiamine (B1) can be found in literally bread and cereal. Only hardcore anorexics and people whose bodies don't absorb thiamine (ie alcoholics) develop this. Stop trying to scare OP.

You have a plenty of neurological signs to precede cognitive impairment in B series vitamin deficiency. Not mentioning that usually cobalamine deficiency takes the form of an ill-defined psychiatric disease, while thiamine deficiency leads to the typical anterograde/retrograde amnesia sparing childhood/schole memories.

Nevertheless it's true that b vitamin deficiency is often overlooker and may be responsible for subtle neurological and cognitive signs in the elders.

You need to be a pretty severe alcoholic to develop thiamine deficiency. My uncle was an alcoholic and he died of cirrhosis before he showed any cognitive impairment.
