Is there any reason to go into a bio field (excluding med) if you don’t want to be a postdoc slave?
Mathematicians can work in several fields (mostly finance), same for physicists, chemists have opportunities in the petroleum and pharma industries. Do biologists have anything aside from teaching high school students for min wage and killing yourself at 45?
