Is it possible to factorize prime numbers by taking measurements of the result of physical processes, as opposed to using CPUs?

We know that in nature, waves, harmonics, constructive and destructive interference and etc play an important role in the way things work. In music for instance it is easy to tell if the frequencies of two notes in a cord are multiples of each other (octaves for instance).
