>>10962608>hilbert spaces and functional analysisBruh, you need to go much wider and much deeper, this is simply not enough, you need a complete in depth course in algebra, including linear algebra, group theory, representation theory and possibly category theory and you also need to calculate a lot of shit in each to really get used to the concepts, then you of fucking course need like 5 semester long courses in mathematical analysis culminating in distribution theory with application to PDEs, then you'll be ready for the introduction to QM and be able to appreciate it's mechanisms. Did I also say you need to calculate a lot of shit? All of that math has to have crazy amounts of computations, you need to know complex integrals like the back of your hand, being able to trivialize real integrals, how to substract divergences in the sense of principal values, how it relates to complex analysis and mathematical transforms, knowing families of orthogonal polynomials and I could go on like this for hours. And this is just the math...
Then you need physics 1,2,3,4,5 which has all the introductory knowledge from most areas of physics covering mechanics, e&m, optics, solid state and finally particle and nuclear physics. Each of those courses is at least semester long and once again you NEED to CALCULATE that shit or you will be utterly lost and even if you think you start to understand something, you really won't know shit and won't be able to derive results independently. Then you need rigorous courses in theoretical classical physics and electrodynamics, thermodynamics and statistical physics, in parallel you should have your first intro to QM course, but only then will you be ready for the actual quantum physics which by themselves cover years of studying and you would still find more things you don't understand.
