Reading College Algebra Textbook.

Question about Fundamental Theorem of Algebra, Rational Root Theorem, Descartes Sign Rule, Upper and Lower Bound theorem, the proofs for these don't make any sense. Are these abstract algebra topics? Will theorems be discussed in greater depth when I take abstract algebra?
