Latin cuneiform significantly predates German.
So this 'confounding' I think is where proto language started to evolve past the literal.

If you look into declension, it's also a toolbox for problem solving.
The second declension is /connotative/.
That is, after male/female, yes/no, truth/false. You must let-go of is or isn't. As it can be the same.
