/sci/'s thoughts on Julian Schwinger?

i always thought he was super based but i did some more reading and it turns out that later in his career he got hung up on "source theory" and "dyons" and a lot of shit that turned out to be basically wrong, and he managed to get in a big fight with the other Harvard faculty and he went to UCLA as a result, and then he finally lost all credibility when he got into cold fusion stuff

based or not based?
