What comes after Differential equations

I want to be a mathematician but looking forward I have absolutely no idea what comes after I take Differential Equations. Do I just choose something that interests me?

Given that differential equations are not a solved subject in the way say analytic geometry is, the answer is more differential equations. More precisely, more sophisticated ways to study differential equations. You can get a whole Ph.D. in differential equations, it will just be called something else.

Yeah but I mean what actual courses do I take after I pass differential equations? Is there a set track or do I choose what interests me?

Because I love visual representations of things so could I just choose to do topology right away or what?

There are a billion different ways you can approach the higher study of differential equations. But to get there I suppose you first need to take all the higher division math courses in analysis, algebra, and topology. As all of that gets used in some way or another. You could just do topology right away.

Go back and study ODEs from a rigorous view point.
