So we all know that Spengler was the greatest historian of all time, but he gets practically no mention, despite his immense influence inside and outside of the academy.
Do mathematics, computational theory, neurology, physics or chemistry have any analogous figures?
Do other fields?

Who can I read who basically unlocks what is being studied in a field in a way that makes the work of anyone who shies away from the conclusions basically worthless, but yet most people do shy away from those conclusions?
