Academics don't care about what they publish but only that they publish.
Publications are judged based on name, connections and market application.
Have connections, have a name and there is no problem. You can even publish junk like tons of people do. No one really cares. Have no name, depend on one with a name and enjoy being a slave. If you're a slave and your paper has real market application, be happy with having your prof's name written on that paper. After all, all research you do belongs to your master. A chimpanzee zoo.
