Does drinking make you dumber?
Say I start at 150 IQ.
If I get drunk twice a week, how many years till I fall out of the genius range? Going off Mensa's standards, <130 IQ?

So outside of the fact that IQ doesnt really mean anything and has largely been discarded by academics, I'd wonder if medium term effects of drugs would have a quantifiable.
I sure as fuck feel smarter a week after taking DMT. But this is just anecdotal and I cant imagine how I could run a controlled experiment to test for changes.

Honestly never taken an IQ test, but IQ is essentially a measure of brain speed right?
I only think it has an adverse effect because this fact has been drilled into my brain since childhood and I find conflicting research online.

However, Twice a week isn't that much desu. I'd say it'd lower your IQ by 5 points if you do it for a lifetime.

Also, The damage may be bigger and permanent if you're still developing (<25).

Does speed translate to abstraction? The thing is that people with average IQ literally can't solve IQ questions meant for 130+ no matter the time given (There are IQ tests without time limit so), does a person with really good short term memory but lack of speed can solve 130+IQ problems given no time limit? I really wonder how this works, google don't say anything about it.

I've never met a person actually working with or studying science / math bring up an IQ test.

Here are the official raven matrices test administered by psychologists:

Norms not included

Some IQ tests try to measure speed and memory, others like the above just try to measure how well you can reason. The time limit is mostly so the test can be administered quickly and you won't end up with someone taking 5 days to solve a question he obviously cannot.

It's not as much about a 100 IQ person solving a 130IQ question but a 130 IQ person solving a 130IQ question. How many times did you take a math/physics test and fucked up a question just to go "Ah fuck! just figured it out!" as soon as you step out of the classroom?

Else, depends what you drink, how often, whether or not you understood your desired subject beforehand, and if you’re putting in effort to study or research said topic .
