>>10950817Not him, but math gives you a very strong background in theory and CS gives you a very strong background in application and subsets of the theory. Doing the double major + having a good CV of undergrad research experience gives you an incredibly wide skillset that pours very well into any graduate field. For example, I know many people in did CS/Math and did lots of research into graphics and visualization, which put them in contact with a lot of practical experiments, lots of signal processing, and a lot of differential geometry and discretized methods. I know one who did robotics and worked on both hardware design and applications of surface topology to navigation. I myself split my time between doing research in specific problems in TCS and mathematical physics research into new models. Literally the sky is your limit, and knowing how to approach problems analytically, numerically, computationally-minded, etc., is an invaluable skills in every field of research, even pure math - we wouldn't have nearly as much work in number theory or sphere packing if we didn't understand the problem computationally
