For example,
1) Say the person if 2meters north or south of you, then the time difference is 0.
2) Say you are on the equator and the other person is 2 meters to left then the difference in longitude is say X.
Now say, you are in a country to the higher north(for example UK or mother russia, i.e. not on the equator). Now again say, the other person is 2 meters to your west, then say, the difference in longitude is Y.
X!=Y, but infact, Y>X.
The only better explanation I can give will be to actually give you examples, which frankly I won't.
