The US reduced its carbon emissions simply due to finding and abundant and cheap alternative: Natural Gas. They weren't even trying and beat all industrialized nations and their various worthless taxes and schemes in CO2 reduction. And China hasn't done jack shit.
And when it starts to become obvious to everyone that this "green" movement won't usher in the big government, high taxes, and socialist wet dreams that the dumbasses believe, they'll drop it like a hot potato and move to the next "crisis".
