>>10942838Anyone who thinks cats don't give a fuck about their human friends is just a retard who doesn't understand cat "language", and keeps expecting cats to behave and think like dogs.
Wild cats will even form non-familial bonds with others (typically all-male) of the same species in sort of a "friend pack", who help each other to survive by splitting their kills, which ensures that all of them have food even if one or two can't catch anything that day.
Cats like to be physically close to the people and creatures they like, but unlike in a familial unit, they don't see a hierarchy of parents and children, but fellow equals helping each other. They bring you things like their toys after beating them up, or dead birds/mice if they somehow catch one, because you feed them, and they're trying to "pull their weight" for the friend-pack however they can, since you keep contributing so much more. Whenever they want to sit/sleep on/near you, or they want you to pat them (they don't want just anyone to pat them), they are saying "we are good friends who appreciate each other and I find comfort in your presence". When they rub their cheeks/flanks on you, they are putting some of their natural fur-oils on you to mark you, not as their property, but as a way of telling other animals "we're a pack so if you fuck with one us there'll be more".
If you had a property full of small, healthy prey animals for a cat you've bonded with to roam around and feed itself, it would still choose to spend time with you (and even attempt to bring you some food it caught just in case you're hungry and your clawless paws can't catch anything), because it likes you, and you're part of its friend pack.
