Is there a limit to math? What I mean is, is there a limit to each of the general fields of mathematics (arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trig., calculus... possibly others) in what is learned and practised. I know that algebra has, what might be?, a subset called linear algebra.

I basically stopped learning math in 7th grade, and even though I graduated high school some time ago, I remember nothing beyond 7th grade. School was all about 'do this now to pass the test and get funding - fail, whatever, fail quickly and quietly.' I'm getting back into it now, but would like some level of scale for what to expect.
