Any medfags here? How common is to get a gray hair that later reverses to its normal color. What controls this effect?

Pic related. This isn't the first hair I've found for which it has happened either. I am curious as to how this works.

The question is unimportant and uninteresting and they probably get enough questions like this in their daily life. As a layman, I would imagine that your melanin production increased, for whatever reason.

Well, thanks for sharing this. I actually had looked it up when i got my first color reversed hair, but didn't find anything substantial. I am also wondering how common it is in a youngish population.

Lots of copper in tap water, through fungicides used to keep the pipes clean.
Different areas have different levels. Fun fact, too much copper causes allergies to preservatives.
