In the old days, it was thought once an entangled particle fell into the black hole, the other particle was "freed" due to destruction of the particle inside the black hole. Now we know that's not the case. The particles are never destroyed but rather black hole is merely changing the landscape of our "3D" world in which it now shows the 3D objects like particles as a 2D projection through hawkings radiation and the "real" particle being still "inside" the black hole.
With ads/cft connecting quantum world to string theory, that is expanded even further into higher dimensions and with the potential that any such "destruction" may never really happen, thus entangled pairs always stay entangled regardless of what we do.
