>>10939170well afaik the “physics” meaning of that vocab (and for the record it is only ever used by poorfag euro or third-world AMO brainlets) refers to the idea that Quantun Mechanics only arises as a way to model things and it’s indeterminacy is solely attributable to our ignorance—either due to our inability to measure things accurately enough (which is a meme) or due to some information-theoretic woo shit (which is a more modern meme but equally memey)
there is no reason to believe non-realism works better at physics, but there is every reason to believe the heisenberg uncertainty principle is physically real. so your choice is: believe in that quantum uncertainty is real, or believe in 1) magically hidden classical dynamics that are not uncertain or 2) the indeterminacy is all about psychology or computer science sneaking into physics in some unspecified and not understood way, but mug information theory is so great that information theory wins because i say so
the whole thing is a shitshow. why can’t people just listen to physicists? why does there always need to be woo?
