His dislike of them is mostly deserved. Less than 50% of them deserve to be disliked by him less, such that if he liked them at a level of y =< 0.5, they deserve to be liked at a level of at least 2y. However since he already likes them so little, what they deserve is hardly a step up from his opinion of them.
