So how rigorous is engineering really? I am an ex engineering student and I've noticed a large amount of women influxing into engineering, particularly mechanical and biomedical. Even the Stacys from my HS have gotten in despite being behind on requisites like calc and physics or experiences like CADmonkeying or programming. On the other side, I've seen many males who might be a bit behind in gpa but many courses and experiences ahead get rejected. This is a top 20 uni mind you. Every other program is just "don't fail the intro courses and you're in, the job market and grad schools will filter you".
