>>10932892The thing people are missing about science noble recipients are that they require a lot of academic networking. When you win such prizes it's because the greater global academic community has regularly referenced your work enough that they recognize the importance of said contribution.
For instance Alexander Animalu a Nigerian scientists while not personaly winning a physics Nobel himself has produced cited research that has allowed others to win Nobels in physics. Which is uncommon for blacks, this is what they need more of in order to win.
Prizes outside Nobel awards do not need such academic networking which is why in other scientific awards like the Von Neumann Prize does feature Black recipients.
