I thought I figured out an easy way to factorise quadratic equations, but then I realise I had just reinvented the quadratic formula.

Basically what i realised is that the C constant is the product of two parts of the B constant. If they are the same then it's a perfect square, otherwise its going to be (x+B+sometimth)(x+B-something) then the rest was just simultaneous equations.

That equation finally makes sense to me. When they taught it at high school we just had to memorise it.
