he went into some sort of finance shit and then became a billionaire. he started throwing lavish "conference" parties for physics, and my assumption is that's just because he had billions of dollars and he wanted to indulge his 20's-self interest in physics by paying for physicists to come hang out with him by giving them ridic amenities on a sick private island. he was trying to make friends with physicists and other scientists because he had some boyish attraction to it.
i don't think we're going to find out that Hawking was a predator raping little girls. OTOH it was more of epstien trying to make friends with the skeevier people in science like Lawrence Krauss so he could indulge in the feeling that he could actually bond with people like David Gross, much like how he had a network so he could indulge in having teenage girl gfs.
Epstien was a weird case, i admit, but i think the assumption that the scientists he tried to make friends with were in on his thing. if you look at who he recruited to be part of his "sex-trafficking" ring, it was mostly older slutty women who were recruiting younger sluts who wanted to be sluts. women do that shit. and epstien had the money to finance them to be his "masseuse" on his lavish private island. i mean, come on, if you were a girl and that was an option for you, you wouldn't consider it?
