It really depends on the institution. There is a lot of variety in the level of theoretical depth depending on where you are.

Are linked lists really that hard to you? I found programming pinstripes too hard, you can trial and error through everything unlike with physics or math which you actually have to be precise and shit.

Not the OP, but you're talking about 1st/2nd year stuff. At a good institution in your final year you can end up studying computational complexity theory, quantum computing, category theory, computational neuroscience etc.

Well you're correct there, at my uni the courses are charcterised as postgrad level, despite being on the BSc Hone programme. But even the undergrad level courses will include computability theory, complexity theory and type theory if you opt for them.
