My stance is fuck the police. Do your science anyway. If they come to try and justify their existence and the large sums of taxpayer funds they consume, simply ensure that you cost them as much of their annual budget as possible.
I have been harrassed by the police. I will always help people understand that the police are stupid bullies who fall to pieces when somebody confident stands up to them.

Law enforcement is little more than licensed criminality. These officers belong in the military, on the front line. That is where people like them should be kept to protect the rest of society.
