Get a Boogie Board Drawing Pad Black. Very battery efficient and only needs pressure and sufficient light to see what is drawn. You can also selective erase [not perfectly] and lock the erase button from going off accidentally. I find it especially useful for the grid dot background to draw molecules accurately and not waste paper/lead/ink/electricity practicing mechanisms/memorizing structures.
