shaped kinda like a strange jellyfish, large round body with hollow cavity for holding asteroids
long prehensile tendrils for grabbing hold of space debris
propels itself by ejecting debris or using tendrils to throw stuff
it'd need to be able to hibernate for LONG periods of time
It'd need excellent vision in order to see space debris, or it'd need to live in a habitat (ie star system) where it passes through asteroid belts on a regular basis
in order to calculate the course corrections and orbital mechanics it'd need to have a decent sized brain and be capable of reasoning/logic, which means it logically wouldn't choose to leave the relative safety and familiarity of it's home star system, tho accidents can happen so one may accidentally get flung to the farthest reaches of space
actually, the flying spaghetti monster may actually work well, if you imagine the two "meatballs" as giant asteroids that it's captured.
