So there are feedback mechanisms in the brain that reward you for curiosity and finding changes to the environment, finding something new. For a very low calorie cost of moving your finger you are constantly bombarded with something new that your brain enjoys. This is why you are scrolling the catalog trying to find interesting threads, scrolling through twitter, instagram, facebook, youtube.
