There were around 300 million people 1000 years ago. Now there are 7.5 billion. That's a huge amount of growth in a tiny time period. 25x more people in a thousand years. In a million, that's 25^1000 times more. Only a few thousand orders of magnitude more people than there are atoms in the observable universe.
