>>10917702The spectrum for autism has widened beyond the scope of practicality.
1. Understand that autism used to be a legit condition, wherein if you walked passed a room that had autistic kids in it, it would be blatantly obvious that they have a neuro-coginitive disorder.
2. Now, the lines have been blurred to a point that has gotten downright out of hand and silly. It's become a means of revenue for BigMed. If you kid smiles too much, it must be autism. If your kid doesn't smile enough, it must be autism. They have added more and more symptoms making it nearly impossible to have a child in this day and age that does not fit somewhere in the autism spectrum.
3. I would have been diagnosed with autism 40x over if they had the same ridiculous (everything is a symptom of autism) standards like they do now. I was literally told (hey don't climb this, you'll get hurt). I climbed it, and broke my bones many times, it had nothing to do with autism, and everything to do with poor parenting, shit diet, and simply not listening to what I was told because I had an over abundance of energy.
4. Unless your child is bobbing back and forth in the fetal position in the corner of the room, drooling on themselves yelling periodically, chances are they don't have autism. Don't let Doctor Bergsteinman Shekelstuffer convince you that every little thing your child does or doesn't do is somehow a symptom of autism.
5. There are no definitive objecgive diagnostic tests that can be performed that can confirm or deny the presence of Autism. It's literally just a doctor looking at your kid and going, "yep, looks like autism". Why else would some kids be diagnosed as a kid (like I would have been) but grow up and somehow via magic (not longer have it)?
