Study their works. They're accessible for anyone. The works of Euler, Lagrange, Newton, Alembert, Maxwell, Cauchy, Faraday etc. are freely accessible. They're not trivial either. Most low-hanging fruits have already been collected by the Greeks, Mesopotamians, Egyptians.
