Was Einstein right about the importance of artistic traits when it comes to scientific breakthroughs?

Are people with more chaotic and emotional minds more likely to come up with the ideas that moves science forward? The scientific field is naturally going to be antagonistic towards people with absurd ideas, since data, education and knowledge is the heart of science; but does this also cause science to become more naturally close-minded as a result?
