Does it even make sense to study math? If your goal is to become a professor, at some point you will likely have to move to the U.S. for graduate school, a postdoc, or a job. But all the professors I've talked to seem to think the US is a terrible place, including the ones who have tenure at an American university. Some of them are talking, it seems seriously, about moving to Canada if Trump is reelected, even if they have to retrain as software developers or dig ditches for a living.

Even if you live in the US now, it seems like an engineering degree would give you the best chances of being to immigrate to Canada or a Western European country, or at least be able to have a job with good health insurance benefits while living in the US.
