having an extra coefficient on the front of an expression is not an instance of good or bad notation. of course good (illuminating, practical, precise) notation is key, "aesthetic" notation is worthless.
this is like yelling at someone because they consistently use epsilon instead of varepsilon. it's not anything like making inconsistent choice of symbols.
for analogy, it is not "bad mathematics" to consistently use your fourier transform with or without the 1/(2pi) factor. it makes no difference. bad mathematics is when you insist on using both and making up two symbols for each.
