I've read somewhere that it might be possible(in the future) to make genetically targeted virus. Something like flu that for normal people is just a flu but becomes deadly when it meets the target. Is this true?

and i have another question. Would it be possible to do reverse situation? Deadly as fuck flu but a person with specified genetics is protected.
