Talk to other people about that problem. Make an honest effort but don't chew your teeth out just so you can claim you figured it out on yourself. Try to look for what other people do differently.
You could honestly be in the wrong field, but you could also just be unnecessarily self-conscious and unaware of how much people fuck themselves up about the problems you are struggling with.

Do you have any idea how enbarrassingly long it took me to understand what a "return value" is? Learning is not linear. The more you do it, the better you will get. Sometimes suddenly, sometimes gradually. Don't be discouraged

Most of the concepts I learned in Mech Eng I only fully understood a couple months after doing the exam. I only got through by looking at past exams and the questions they were likely to answer.

Take your time, bro. Different people learn at different speeds with different knowledge retention and internalization. All that counts in the end is if you did the work. Doesn't matter if it took you 10 minutes or 5 hours.

I consider myself as a very slow learner, because it takes time for me to internalize things. I often spend ages on the most basic shit, while my peers have moved on long ago. However, I seem to have excellent knowledge retention and can apply the stuff I learned pretty quick. Some people seem to be capable of solving problems quickly, but just aren't capable of increasing their understanding of the matter beyond the problem itself.

Keep doing the work and it will all work out.

Oh yeah I remember those. The first 5 sets are pretty straightforward, but can still be time consuming if you're unfamiliar with subword handling. I doubt anybody would expect you to plow trough them by the minute.

I'd definitely say you're doing well if you're progressing at all. I'm actually quite frustrated there's no cool place to talk about the challenges. I posted on maths SO at one point but couldn't really articulate the problem without leaking the set 8 challenge.

I'm a third year computer science student at uni and have intermediate coding experience myself. I have to teach Python to high schoolers next week at their school. They are are all complete beginners so it is actually an introduction to programming for them. I'm actually quite shit at teaching and public speaking in general. So what should I start with when I teach and how to keep these high schoolers interested.
